What is the gay uniform? As you trade in nightclubs and bars for lounges and vacations, be sure to trade up your style with some swagger.
Growing up attending catholic school, I was always so excited at the beginning of the school year to get a brand new set of uniforms. It sounds a bit ridiculous when I think about it now but I was a bit weird and this was Long Island. Green slacks, yellow shirt, green vest, and a red plaid tie do not exactly add up to an ounce of sexy. As an adult going through years of two-stepping through various nightclubs, bars, and circuit events, the one thing you could always count on seeing is the gay uniform.
What is the gay uniform you ask? I’m sure you may already have a visual but in case you do not, let me tell you about the fitted hat, low V-neck t-shirt, and once baggy jeans that have now morphed into slim fit and dare I say it, skinny jeans.
As men approach their mid-thirties and beyond, career, romantic partnerships, and lifestyle changes often dictate a shift in the fashionable mindset. In other words, at some point, you need to look like you’re not sharing an apartment with six of your best friends.
I know it may be difficult to let go of some of your favorite items. I’m a sports fan, I rock a fitted, trust me I get it. However; There must come a time when getting your hand stamped for admission to the club makes way for passports and dope hats from flamekeepers hat club.
As you climb that corporate ladder or reap the benefits of entrepreneurship, your style should be a reflection of that. More importantly, know that getting older doesn’t mean you have to do so without looking fly in the process. As you trade in nightclubs and bars for lounges and vacations, be sure to trade up your style with some swagger. You’ve earned the upgrade!
